Hello, my name is Melinda Romeo. I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker and a Supervisor at SWCS. Prior to starting my career, I attended Eastern Connecticut State University where I obtained a Bachelor’s degree in Social Work and Fordham University where I received a Master’s degree in Social Work, specializing in children and families. Over my past 10+ years in the social work field, I have been working with children and adolescents within the child welfare system and with children who have experienced domestic violence within their homes. During my 5+ years at SWCS I have worked with numerous individuals (children, adolescents, & adults), couples. and families using a range of evidence-based models, often utilizing a strength-based and cognitive behavioral framework.
Overall, I believe people have the strength and power within them to overcome whatever obstacles they may be facing. I feel it is important to build a strong therapeutic relationship so we can work together in finding the tools within one’s self to move towards positive growth and change.
